Description
The Z-spinners combine the advantages of the CN-spinners (cool nose with cooling air openings) and the cranked Z-centre pieces. The angled aluminium centre pieces allow the folding propeller blades to sit even closer to the fuselage, thus reducing air resistance during gliding. The spinners with the centre pieces are designed for slim electric glider fuselages, but can also be advantageous for wooden box-type fuselages, for example, if they are sanded down to make them round.
The center pieces of the spinner sizes 32-42mm are interchangeable, so 38mm spinner caps can be used with the center piece of the 42mm spinner, for example. These combination options offer further optimization potential, as they allow for finer tuning to the respective fuselage. The 30mm spinner has its own center piece, which cannot be combined with the other spinner caps.
The Z-spinner contains a spinner cap (diameter 30mm) made of white plastic (easily paintable), milled aluminum center piece with integrated holder for clamping cone, special prop rubber for folding the propeller blades, mounting screws for spinner cap and propeller blades.
The diameter of the spinner cap is 32 mm. The center distance (d) for this spinner is 28 mm. This means that the diameter of the propeller blades is reduced by 14 mm (0.55″). Example: A propeller with a diameter of 12″ effectively has a diameter of 11.45″ at this center piece (the size specifications for folding propellers always refer to the use of a center piece with a center distance d=42 mm).
