It is always a huge pleasure to follow our customers’ building projects, and this time we have received a fantastic update from an experienced builder who has taken on the impressive Leprechaun XL.
After successfully assembling both the V2 and V3 models, it was time for the grand Leprechaun XL—and it does not disappoint. The customer describes it as “an impressive bird” that is just as much fun to build as the smaller models.
Beyond the joy of the build itself, the customer shared a couple of clever, technical optimizations directly from the workshop that other builders might find inspiring:
- Improving the wing latches: Experiments are underway to enhance the wing latches, which are under quite a bit of stress, to avoid having to permanently glue the extension pieces to the wings.
- Modifying the EWD (Angle of Attack): Since the original plan shows no angle difference between the wings and the stabilizer, the customer is currently testing a 2.5° difference to optimize the gliding performance.
